New albums of Beatle covers (2/4/02)
Several new albums of Beatle covers have popped up in stores lately. In addition to the "I Am Sam" soundtrack, there's "The Blues White Album," out now, an album of blues Beatle covers by such artists as Joe Louis Walker, Charlie Musselwhite and Kenny Neal. Also, there's "The Persuasions Sing the Beatles," due Feb. 26. Here's the track list: Eight Days a Week, Oh! Darling, Come Together, Rocky Raccoon, Octopus's Garden, Love Me Do, With a Little Help From My Friends, From Me To You, Yesterday, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Don't Let Me Down, The Ballad of John and Yoko, Imagine and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. We've heard this and, as usual with the Persuasions, it's tremendous.
