Beatle tribute records collected on "Flabby Road": (8/26/98) Fifty-two Beatle tribute records have been collected on "Flabby Road" (OR4444) and "Flabby Road Vol. II" (OR4445), both on Orange Records. The two discs include a number of rare tracks. Vol. 1 includes "We Love the Beatles by the Carefrees", "I Want To Be a Beatle" by Gene Cornish (of the Young Rascals) and the Unbeetables, "Gonna Send 'Em Home" by Homer and Jethro, "All I Want For Christmas Is a Beatle" by Dora Bryan, "Saga of the Beatles" by Johnny and the Hurricanes and "My Boyfriend Has a Beatle Haircut" by Donna Lynn, plus by punk sounding "Ringo I Love You" by Bonnie Jo Mason (later known as Cher). Vol. 2 includes"We Love You Beatles" by the Vernon Girls, "Treat Him Tender Maureen" by Angie and the Chicklettes, "Brother Paul" by Billy Shears & The All-Americans, "Ballad of Paul" by Mystery Tour and "John You Went Too Far This Time" by Rainbo (aka Sissy Spacek). Tracks were mastered from original masters and vinyl. Orange Records, by the way, has released a number of David Peel's recordings and, not surprisingly, Vol. 2 features Peel's "B-E-A-T-L-E-S."
