(9/2/03) Hey! Great Site!
Anyway, this is a review for the Ringo concert at
Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA. My friend Ananda and I
arrived at the venue (outdoors) around 2:30 and waited
until 5:30 for the gates to open. It was very hot,
over 80 degrees. The sign I made kept getting blown
around, so half the pictures of England I put on it
fell off. One side of the sign said "Give us a Kiss"
from A Hard Day's Night, and the other said. "One
RINGO to rule them all." Other interesting things: A
roadie kept saying very odd things in the microphone.
Security kept coming by emphasizing the rules--No
CAMERAS!!! Last time Ringo was here at Woodinville,
they could care less what we did. This time, they
were being very strict, especially since I read Ringo
didn't mind people taking pictures at other venues.
Anyway, we got inside with a little disposable camera,
which we didn't use inside. Now I know how Paul felt
in Japan. We had reserved seats, 13 rows back. It
was cramped. We waited and I put on my Sgt. Pepper
jacket and waited some more. Then at 7:05 the show
began. Everyone stood up for the first song and then
sat back down. It's like, come on, be enthusiastic!!
Anyway, everybody on stage did a fantastic job and
Ringo was very happy when he watched TV earlier that
he found out it wasn't going to rain. Sheila E was
amazing. Our row was standing most of the time when
everyone else in front of us was sitting, so Ringo had
a clear view of us. He had to have seen our big pink
sign. All and all, it was wonderful. Everyone had a
good time and were friendly to each other. It was fun
to say, "Ringo, Paul, John!" It's nice to see that
Ringo still dances like he did in A Hard Day's Night.
The All-Starrs did an excellent job. It was nice to
see their varied styles. Ananda especially liked
Colin's songs. John had nice clothes on. Paul was
amazing on keyboards. Great job to Mark for finally
singing and getting paid!!!!
Once again, great site!!
