He sang What Goes On, just great! this is going to be Ringo's highlight for this tour, I hope he decide to do Matchbox and Goodnight too. Thanks for your great site!

    Update II (5/8/06)

  • Several people wrote to confirm what we basically said in the regular update that the PNC Bank Center has definitely not been canceled. From Patti Murawski:

Ringo's show at the PNC Bank Arts Center has not been cancelled. Tickets went on sale this past Saturday, May 6.

    Update (5/8/06)
  • A reader -- whose email we can't find ... sorry! -- wrote to tell us that Ringo's July 18 concert at PNC Bank Center has been taken off their website and wondered if it had been canceled. Well, Ringo's spokesman told us she'd not heard it had been cancelled. And indeed, it's still listed at www.pollstar.com, which is the concert industry's website for tour schedules, though it sometimes lags a couple of days with updates.

    Update (4/15/06)
  • The official reason for Mark Hudson's absence from the All-Starr Band tour is "scheduling conflicts," but here's some added info sent by Matt Hurwitz:

Hi, Steve-- I just heard from Mark Hudson, whom I had asked about the All-Starr tour. He has a commitment for a television series at the same time and is unable to participate in the tour. He didn't give any details, but I know he was involved in Simon Cowell's UK "X-Factor" last year, which is incredibly popular in England, and Mark was a big part of the show. Matt Hurwitz

Update (4.13/06) Some news from Bill King of Beatlefan:

    Steve, here's a bit of news . . .

Beatlefan Bulletin reports a couple of changes in the All Starr Band for Ringo's upcoming tour. Musical director Mark Rivera will work with the band in rehearsals but won't be able to join them on tour because of commitments to Billy Joel. And Mark Hudson is being replaced in the lineup by former McCartney band member Hamish Stuart, who will play bass. Stuart is an alumnus of the Average White Band ("Pick Up the Pieces").

    cheers, Bill

    Update (4/11/06) From Steve Preston:

I saw the tour poster on your Beatle news briefs....ok, so maybe they couldn't find a picture of Mark Hudson....but I noticed there was NO mention of Mark Rivera...has he decided (or had decided for him) to not be in the All-Starr Band this go-round?

(Comment: We asked Ringo's spokesperson and she told us: "No. He will be touring with Billy Joel or would have been with us. "
    Update (4/10/06)
  • At left is a poster advertising Ringo's tour. (Thanks to Patti Murawski.)

    Update (4/5/06)

Actually, Ringo is doing two shows at Westbury, according to Ticketmaster.com. The other one is July 12th and goes on sale April 21st, like the one on the 14th.

    Update (3/28/06)
  • Here's the word: The itineraries that have been circulating were early versions not meant to be released, according to Ringo's publicist. A definitive version will be coming soon, we're told.

    Update (3/27/06)

  • Though some dates have apparently popped up on various sites, including Ticketmaster and Pollstar, the last word we had from Ringo's publicist is that the itinerary is still being worked out and, we suspect, subject to change. Some of these early listing may have been taken from the earlier itineraries, meaning they're could possibly be inaccurate.

(3/9/06) A press release issued Wednesday:

    WOW! HE’S DONE IT AGAIN!

RINGO STARR CONFIRMS 9th ALL STARR SUMMER TOUR 2006, PRODUCED BY HOUSE OF BLUES®

ALL STARRS WILL INCLUDE ROD ARGENT, MARK HUDSON, RICHARD MARX AND BILLY SQUIER WITH SHEILA E AND MARK RIVERA RETURNING

Wednesday, March 8, 2006, Los Angeles, CA – This summer is guaranteed to be a little more rocking now that Ringo Starr has confirmed the details for his upcoming 9th All Starr Band. The tour, produced by House of Blues®, will kick off in Canada at Casino Rama on June 14 and end in New York City on July 20 at Radio City Music Hall. The 9th All Starr Band will feature new All Starr's (in alphabetical order) Rod Argent (Zombies), Mark Hudson (Ringo’s writing partner and producer from that other band, no not that one!, the other other one – the Roundheads), Richard Marx, Billy Squier, Edgar Winter with the fabulous Sheila E returning on drums/percussion and band leader and saxophonist Mark Rivera.

The All Starr show is “the best 1-800-band on the road,” (as Ringo always says), where each of All Starrs take turns singing their greatest hits: “With A Little Help From My Friends”, “Yellow Submarine”, “Photograph”, “It Don’t Come Easy,” "Hold Your Head Up," “Don’t Mean Nothin,” “Free Ride,” “The Stroke,” “Everybody Wants You,” and “Glamorous Life.”

Ringo and His All Starrs exude the love, joy and phenomenal playing that shine from the Starr at the center. The shows draw fans of all ages and sizes…parents and their kids come to enjoy a summer night out with fantastic music, performed by musicians who love to play. As Ringo recently said in an interview: “I just have a great time, and that's the rhythm of my heart and my soul.”

The full itinerary will be announced shortly, and in the meantime fans can look for updates on: www.ringostarr.com.
