Update (2/19/02) Beatlefan.com reports that King Biscuit Flower Hour will release the Chicago Rosemont show on CD and DVD.
Update (9/21/01) Added new review of Los Angeles show by Beatle journalist Rip Rense.
Update (9/6/01) Added further comment on Las Vegas show.
Update (9/5/01) Added review of final show in San Diego and a link to a second Concord review. We'll continue to add reviews, but we just want to thank everyone who has contributed to this page. We hope you got to see the tour. We also hope, as he's done in the past, that this tour comes out on video. It was a keeper.
Update (9/2/01) Added fan review of Universal Amphitheater show.
Update (9/1/01) Added our review of Concord, CA. show and additional fan comments to Rosemont show. Image Entertainment tells us, as we suspected, that the footage shot at the Chicago show won't be for the upcoming All-Starr Band DVD, since the DVD footage has been complete and street date is so close. So it's possible another DVD could be down the road.
Update (8/31/01)

Update (8/19/01) From Tom Carswell:
An interview with Ringo aired today (Aug. 19) at 11am on WCBS-TV Ch 2 - the CBS
affiliate in New York. He talks about his stock portfolio and his
association with Century 21. More of his interview can be accessed on
their website. Tom
Update (8/18/01) Added several more pages to the tour review box. The Tampa and Atlanta reviews are new.
Update (8/16/01) Ringo, who makes a Chicago stop with the All-Starr Band next Tuesday at the Rosemont Theatre, is doing one Chicago radio interview and that will be on 105.9FM WCKG. The live phone interview will be tomorrow, Thursday, August 16th at 11:40AM local time. You can find the station on the 'net at http://www.wckg.com/
Update (8/13/01) First, a housekeeping note: We'll be moving all the tour reviews off this page and to pages of their own with links in the table we've started above. So don't panic if you see this page getting smaller.
Update (8/9/01) We've had a couple of people comment on how great the Remembering With Ringo article we linked to on 8/6 is. We read it and agree. Be sure to read it. It's a great article.

Update (8/5/01)
Update (8/3/01) From HeyJude:
I don't know if this is really something that would go on the news page, but in case somebody from Ringo's tour camp reads the site, you might want to mention that despite being promised "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden" for the 2001 tour in the press release for the tour, neither song is in the setlist, and in fact no songs are in the setlist that haven't been performed before, and there is currently only one song in the setlist that hasn't been heard on the past three tours. I realize there could be countless reasons for this, and it's possible the setlist could change. Ringo puts on a fabulous show anyway. But going from past tours, the setlist rarely changes much, and if any changes are made, it's usually either songs getting dropped or songs in solo spots being changed. I also realize that the press release for the tour stated "fans can expect", which may or may not be a promise, I'm not sure. In any event, the tour will still be excellent I'm sure. I just wish we could hear at least a few new songs in the setlist from Ringo. I don't know how much of an uproar this setlist issue is causing among the fans, but I would imagine it won't create a great deal more of interest in the show at least from the aspect of Ringo's songs. But I don't want to discourage people from seeing the show. It should still be a great show to see. I'm hoping that since your website is read by so many, that maybe somebody might read it and let his camp know that the fans were really looking forward to hearing a few new songs, specifically possibly "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden." Wishful thinking perhaps, but it can't hurt.
Update (8/1/01) Writer Kevin O'Hare, whose article we linked to yesterday, sent us an anecdote that didn't make it into his article. In his interview, he asked Ringo about "Carnival of Light." Ringo's response: "You're asking me about
something I've never heard of."
Also, Ringo will be on "The Howard Stern Show" today. Word has it from two reports that he'll either be on from either between 7 and 8 a.m. ET or around 8:30 a.m. (Thanks to Steve Frank and Matt Hurwitz.)
Update (7/31/01)
Update II (7/28/01)
Update (7/27/01) JamMusic reports Ringo played 28 songs in a 2 hour and 10 minute show. Among the songs he performed: "Boys," "Yellow Submarine," "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "With A Little Help From My Friends."
Update II (7/25/00) At the press conference Tuesday, Ringo discussed the lack of radio play his recent albums have received. "I've crossed the threshold into golden-oldiedom," he said in the New York Daily News. "You have to be heard on the radio. If you aren't promoted, people don't know your record exists. And we just couldn't get programmers to play it. It doesn't matter how many lunches you have with the buggers. You're beating your head against a wall. So, after a while, you just say, 'Okay, I worked hard on this record and, musically, it stands up. I'm proud of it. And that's as far as I can go.'" Further, he said, "If radio had the attitude in 1964 that it has today, no one would have ever heard the Beatles." He also addressed the question of whether this would be the last All-Starr Band. "Every one is the last one. ... It's gotten to the point where my family just laughs at me. I come home at the end and say, 'That's it,' and they say, 'Sure, Dad. Sure it is.'"
Update (7/25/01) Doris tells us that Coconuts has started to give away tickets for Ringo's signing on August 1. She says it's "one ticket per person when you buy Ringo's new CD. It seems *terribly* unorganized. The tickets are not numbered, so we still have to line up early for the signing. *And* they are giving away 500 tickets! They claim that Ringo will stay until he signs for all 500 people. Yeah, right. Coconuts just changed their name to "FYE". They're on the corner of 51st and 6th, 212-581-1669." (Thanks, Doris)
Update II (7/24/01) The press release for Ringo's press conference:

Update (7/3/01)
Update (5/28/01) Ringo will hold tour rehearsals at the opening venue, Casino Rama from July 16-25. A casino spokesman said, "It's fairly standard for Ringo and his band to practise at the exact spot where they're going to kick off their tour, now they don't often tell the world that, but he's done this kind of thing before. The other thing that he really likes about this, and coming here, because he hasn't physically been here before, is that it's a brand new building and it's brand new equipment and we've been billing it as state-of-the-art equipment, so this is a good place to get themselves to play and to kick off their tour."
Update 5/27/01) From Fred Lark:
An update on the 7/29/01 Ringo show in West Virginia. It appears as if T'master has begun making those tix available through online sales through their website.., despite having been told that those seats would have a sale date of 6/2/01. T'master has always been strange. You go on their main page and type in Ringo Starr and search, then it gives you a few dates.., but if you click on West Virginia specifically, it gives you the info on that show. 'Puters will be the death of us all at somew point! Also, the Beatle soundalike band 'Yesterday-The Tribute' is playing at the Mountaineer Race and Gaming Resort on July 26 & 27th, before the All Starr Show at 'The Harv' on the 29th. Checking their web site they trumpet about opening for the All Starr's on their 2002 tour. Strange days indeed!
Update (5/23/01) From Dan Courtemanche:
Looks like tickets for Ringo's Casino Rama show go on sale today (May 22) at noon EST. Great Site...keep up the good work!
Update (5/22/01) From Fred Lark:

that Ringo Starr will be appearing
at the Montreal Molson Center on July 27th. Tickets are on
sale at noon May 18th. The official Ringo tour site at http://www.ringotour.com has been revised with a new introduction with an intro by Ringo and much information, including a tour schedule (the same info on Pollstar.) (Thanks to Joe Caldwell.)
And from Stephen Garfinkel:
Here's a good question that faces every ticket buyer. If bracelets are being handed out for Ringo's August 1st Jones Beach show at 5 PM on Friday, will Ticketmaster buyers still get better seats for the extra $8 convenience fee they are charging? The Jones Beach box office opens at 10 AM, but the internet sale starts at 9 AM. On top of that Rod Stewart tickets (at a juicy $140 a pop + $11 convenience charge!) go on sale the same day and at the same time. Talk about internet jams and box office lines!
Update (5/11/01) Two new dates: Tickets are now on sale for Aug. 21 at Fox Theater, St. Louis. And the band is tentatively scheduled to play August 20th at Six Flags Frontier City in Oklahoma City, OK.
Also, tickets also go on sale for the Aug. 1 Jones Beach show at 9 a.m. Saturday (May 12) at the Jones Beach box office and at all area TicketMaster locations. Bracelets will be handed out on Friday at the box office beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets, $45, $32.50 and $22.50, can also be purchased through the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com and at www.sfx.com or by phone through TicketMaster by calling 631-888-9000. A $3.50 facility fee will be added to tickets purchased at the Jones Beach box office. There will also be a $2 service charge applied to any ticket purchased the day of the show. TicketMaster will charge a convenience fee, depending on the price of the ticket, starting at $8 and $3.50 for handling. There is a 6 ticket limit per show. (Thanks to Chip Madinger.)
Update (5/6/01) Now on sale: Aug. 9 and 28. (Thanks to Patti Murawski.)
--> Update (4/21/00) Tickets for Ringo's Sterling Height show went on sale Saturday morning. (Thanks to Kris Tash and Debbie Glienke.)
Update (4/11/01) Ringo's tentative tour schedule is now listed at http://www.ringotour.com/2001/2001schedule.htm. That info is what's contained in the table above. We'll update it as need be. (Thanks to Bill King and Tony.)
Update (3/19/01) Pollstar lists one venue: 8/19, Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles. (Note: Pollstar listings are not always accurate.) (Thanks to Doris.)
Update (3/16/01)

The tour will coincide with the much anticipated All Starr Box set and DVD.
Update II (3/9/01) From Rasbernie, webmaster of the Eric Carmen website:
Hi:I just wanted to clarify something on your website attributed to me. I never told Larry Lange that Eric had family commitments *preventing* his participation from an upcoming Ringo tour, just that last year he really missed being away from his family. (His daughter was born just weeks before the tour began.) Fact is, Eric has not yet been asked officially by Ringo or anyone in Ringo's camp about a new tour... and I can't really predict what he'd say if he was.
Bernie
Update (3/9/01) Rick Holland and Jamie both notice the Roger Hodson site has removed the mention of the Ringo tour. Not surprising.
Update (3/8/01) Larry Lange tells us he's been told by the webmaster for Eric Carmen's website that Carmen won't likely be involved in the new tour because of family comittments.
Update (3/7/01) We're told that there is talk of a tour, but no dates or booked venues yet. Apparently, more info should be known in a few weeks, according to what we were told.
(3/5/01) Roger Hodgson, formerly of Supertramp, has revealed on his website that he'll be on the next All-Starr Band tour this August and September in the U.S. Ringo's tour website shows no news of the new tour, but we'll let you know what we find out. (Thanks to Robert Fontenot Jr. and Mkhol13)
